I accidentally deleted a shared folder on my network server from a client rig, so the folder doesn't show up in either Recycle Bin. Is there a way to recover the folder? [Bangs head on wall thrice]

Thanks,
Daiwa

I don't know, but thought you could use a visual aide.
There's probably a way. I've seen stuff at download or majorgeeks or someplace that advertise recovering deleted files and such.

bummer

a couple third-party apps claim to be able to do it...whether they can recover stuff deleted before they were installed is another story. sorry you're havin this problem.

No backup, eh?

You could try a utility like this Link

Never had to use one, but this one claims to do the job and has a free trial version.

I bet you set up a backup plan from now on!

Good luck.

You can a data recovery utility like Get Data Back, Easy Recovery, Final Recovery, and R-Studio.

Here is R-Studio Link

Looks better than the other link to me, especially with Black Xero's mention.

the server's still down for the FF extension so I didn't have a good one. Put up the first I found.
But thanks for putting that one up, now I have it. Slowed it down a little.

That one is from smiley xtra ff extension.
What rate did you set it at?
on Aug 27, 2005
How come my smiliextra extension don't work? Everytime I open it, I get html code one through the whole thing...no smilies

no rate, open in animation shop and just copied and pasted the beginning frame, and the 3 points where the head hits, so at each point: beginning = slam = slam = slam there are 4or5 frames in the beginning and 3 on the slams instead of one.

Would it not have been easier to use Microsoft GIF Animator to adjust the time for each frame?

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. Wasn't a critical folder, just 4 or 5 days of work on a skin!!! Backup wouldn't have helped in this case - I'd only finished working on the skin and was intending to copy the folder to another rig. It was late, I was tired, yada yada...

I really appreciate it. I'll report back. Just as soon as the swelling of my forehead goes down.

Cheers,
Daiwa

which FF version?

oh yeah..

I only gave that a blink of thought, just went with right click open with, copy/paste(s),save.. but yeah normally I try both animation factory & MS GifAnimator to see which looks cleaner...but it was late...
