How pathetic & un-Christian
Published on January 6, 2006 By Daiwa In Current Events
Of course, I'm referring to his comments about Sharon's stroke being God's punishment.

What an ass. He's one sorry excuse for a Christian, deserving of nothing but our pity & scorn.

So what were the sins of the miners, Pat - what were they suffocated for? What was their heinous sin that your vengeful & righteous God had to smite them?

May the God you falsely claim to represent have mercy on your pathetic soul.

Me?

I'm still trying to figure out when was the last time a major Republican figure quoted Robertson approvingly.

I was going to write an article on this, but instead will give a brief take on it here.

Excuse me Pat?  How is it god's wrath?  Are you not a christian?  If you are as you say you are, then you would know that the Christian God does not interfere!  And if he did, do you think he would have allowed Hitler, Stalin or Mao to do what they did?  Only Hitler didnot die of old age!  And what about Bin Laden!  He is still breathing (we think)?

You need to get a brain!  Maybe a trip down the yellow brick road would help you as the scarecrow has more brains than you do!

I liken Pat Robertson to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Both wish ill will on Israel and use their positions as a platform to spout it.
on Jan 06, 2006
Your comparison would make a lot more sense if Pat Robertson were POTUS.
on Jan 06, 2006
POTUS doesn't opportunistically claim divine intervention for specific events. When the military succeeded in killing Uday & Kusay, he didn't credit God - he credited the military what killed them.

Pat Robertson always gave me the heeby jeebys.  People like that can always twist things to serve their own agenda.  He's not a dumbass, he's a scumbag.

that he is.  But at one time, he was actually a nice conservative preacher, and I did respect him (about 20 years ago) for being pure of heart (not like Swaggert or Bakker).  But he has just gone off the deep end in the last 15 years!

All very true, Daiwa.

What I meant was, Amadinejad is a religious crackpot who wields the power of the state. Pat Robertson is not.

To me, this makes Robertson a lot more like Ralph Nader or Michael Moore or even Osma Bin Laden (though without the worldwide network of murderous thugs bent on world domination through violence, of course), than like Amadinejad.

I'll accept that.

No. No mercy.

Another perfect example of a "Christian" ignoring the teachings of Christ and using the vengeful God of the Old Testament when it suits his agenda.

stutefish -

Sorry. Mistook a curveball for a slider.

And I'm not saying Robertson shouldn't have the right to free speech - he should. He just deserves to reap what he sows.

Clearly, I need to work on my pitching

No, no - I need to work on my hitting.

I agree. Isn't the point of being a Christian to be hospitable and welcoming? I always thought it was, but I could be mistaken. Pat Robertson isn't God's messenger, that's for sure.
