Where's the outrage?
Where's the cavalry?
I have an aunt that lives down in KY and yes it is really really bad. They have to pretty much drive a few hours to the boarder to the other state and get fuel to opp the generators...
They were having huge ass cookouts in town because alot of the foods are going bad so everyone gets together and they cook it all... its bad.
But your right... if this was Bush in office.... man o man this would be all over the news about this
So, for those keeping score at home:
Democrats can nominate people that failed to pay taxes - check.
Democrats can have pay-for-play Governors put people into the U.S. Senate - check
Democrats can cry that the mistakes of the past will take years to correct and they'll get a pass for many months, if not several years and multiple Presidential terms - yup, you know it, this one is likely gonna be 'check' also.
And Democrats who are in office during nasty natural disasters get a free pass - check, check and check.
I hate to say it... but someone brought a good point to me in another fourm...talking about how when Ike hit his area they more or less thumbed the nose at them and there was little done with the media and all that great stuff... he also thinks that it had to do with race when comairing Katrena and Ike and this... Its hard not to think about that as a factor
I fully expect Spike Lee to air a new documentary on HBO entitled "When whiteys power went down - A requiem in 4 parts."
You did read that there is a state of emergency, that there are national guards despatched, that there are people going out trying to get to those who live way out in areas not easily acessable, that the roads are still bad and how many shelters are open? The only outrage is that this isn't being reported on every second.
I didn't even hear about this! I sure know all about the Super Bowl and how the Chairman of the Steelers thanked President O when presented with the trophy. Wow!
I think the proper Kanye'esque quote would be...
Obama hates Rednecks.
What he didn't even fly over the area in Air Force One to survey the damage? Well. I'll tell you one thing, I doubt that many in Kentucky will sit around crying about it for three years. They will pick themselves up by the bootstraps and continue on, that's the kind of metal they are made of there.
Why should Kentucky matter to Obama, wasn't that a "Red" state. I guess it falls in line with his call to lower your thermostats. His words, "Candidate Obama spoke directly to that end in May of this year, ‘We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,”
Meanwhile he has the temp in the white house to so warm "you could grow orchids in there". Here's a LINK to the article at the Huffington post. I thought our liberal friends would enjoy reading the other liberal commenter's there explaining it all away in typical hypocritical fashion.
All done by the Governor. I have yet to see any address by Obama about this. Perhaps I missed it or something.
Wasn't a highly anticipated & lionized 'global warming' catastrophe like Katrina, with all the hyped buildup and breathless, damning reporting. Not even Geraldo. Guess if the problem doesn't fit the AGW narrative and the proportion of those suffering who are members of an 'accepted' victim class is insufficiently high, it ain't worthy of outrage.
My condolences to your family, LW.
That's so....... Bush. (Except for making nice with the enemies).
Federal authorities insisted they responded as soon as the state asked for help and promised to keep providing whatever aid was necessary.
Does that have a certain familiar ring to it, folks? Notice how the AP writer has to work at it to make it sound like things are going just fine, thank you. Where are the media screamers? Those AP hacks who hounded Bush & FEMA every hour on the hour?
Sounds exactly like Katrina and former Govenor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco. The difference was that she was a Dem and GW was at 1600. Why isn't Obama on trial in the media? This is his show now. This happened entirely under his watch.
I completely see your point.
