Daiwa's Articles In Current Events

Joe Scarborough, in an article today on MSN discussing Brian Williams taking over for Tom Brokaw, referred to the "pajamahadeen bloggers who took Dan Rather down." Pajamahadeen . How un-PC. I kind of like that. Maybe it will stick. Cheers, Daiwa

I couldn't believe my eyes & ears. Fox News actually just now broke into a War on Terror interview with a "Breaking News" item to breathlessly inform us that the UN has announced that former President Clinton has canceled his upcoming trip to the Maldives because of "exhaustion." How frickin' soap opera. Like that bit of non-news couldn't wait until 5pm. They even got Dr. Isadore Rosenfeld on the phone within minutes to reassure us that Clinton's OK. Oh, please. I could see that o...

This is a true story. About illegal immigration. About a broken criminal justice system. About irrational judges. About how a single tragic event can encapsulate so much of what's not right with our "system." Six days ago, a 15-year-old girl, walking in a marked school-zone crosswalk on her way to school, was struck by a car which ran through the crosswalk at speed, the impact flinging her some 150 feet in the air. Slowing only slightly, the driver managed to swerve to the left just in t...

I have nothing to add to the headline. Just struck me as funny, given today's record snowfall. Cheers, Daiwa

Of course, I'm referring to his comments about Sharon's stroke being God's punishment. What an ass. He's one sorry excuse for a Christian, deserving of nothing but our pity & scorn. So what were the sins of the miners, Pat - what were they suffocated for? What was their heinous sin that your vengeful & righteous God had to smite them? May the God you falsely claim to represent have mercy on your pathetic soul. Daiwa

Consistent with the logic & reasoning employed by certain JU bloggers, President Bush was personally responsible for the safe emergency landing yesterday of a Jet Blue Airbus A320 at Los Angeles International Airport. The aircraft had experienced a nosegear failure following takeoff from Burbank Airport hours earlier. The pilot, thanks to Bush, after burning off as much fuel as possible and, in accordance with flight procedures directly authorized by the President and his FAA appointees, ...

I saw this reply from a poster handled 'raven', who summed it up better than I could: These people are deeply sick and someone needs to tell them to their faces. Someone needs to go on one of their programs and confront them. “Obama has an Enemies List and has targeted and slandered individual American citizens, using the power of the highest office in the land to damage indivual livelihoods and reputations, and all you can talk about is a 50-year old incident at a prep school....

Knowing that achieving his objective from within would be much more difficult, if not impossible, he's adopted a world-first strategy, allowing him to eventually argue that the US has no choice but to stifle dissenting points of view.  Since everything is religious to Muslims, anything that offends, or might offend , Muslims will become prohibited. This man is evil.

Instead of thanking the Customs/Security folks for doing their jobs, this jerk whines about his 'humiliating mistreatment.'  OMG, a one hour delay!!  And then his government gets in on the whining act. And what does our Ambassador do?  Gets on his knees and sucks d**k apologizes.  Disgusting. No wonder Hollywood/Bollywood types are so overwhelming supportive of legislators who so assiduously assure they are not subject to so many of the laws they write.  They bel...

A complete and total scam, mind you, but at least it's voluntary. Anyone flying out of SFO who wishes will be able to 'contribute' to a variety of 'certified' CO2-reduction programs by purchasing a 'carbon credit' based on the estimated 'carbon footprint' of the airline flight they are about to take at a kiosk in the airport. Goofball winner of the week, but I'm all in for voluntary stupidity.  If it actually generates a significant amount of cash, I'm jumping in the game with kiosks ...

I like to think that my subscription cancelation last year played a small part. Of course, they're blaming it on 'the internet' rather than the biased, agenda-driven crap they publish under the rubric of 'news'. FWIW, couldn't get links or smilies to insert in the text box.  See the external link.

There was an article bearing the same title, I think by ParaTed2k?, which appears to have disappeared from JU. Anyone know what happened to it?
