I've used Smart Defrag since version 1 and been extremely pleased with it.  And IObit seemed like a solid outfit, on a par in my mind with Piriform.  The app has been trouble-free and efficient, doing exactly as advertised.  One of the better free apps out there in my experience.  The installer would offer to install the IObit Toolbar, but it was easy to decline - no muss, no fuss. Things have change drastically with Smart Defrag 3.  After multiple installs, ...

Have a question about closing on a property in Detroit, strangely enough.

I applaud Charles Barkley for having the balls to defend his right to speak his mind, using whatever words he chooses, and to point out, rightly, that 'white America' can't dictate how he speaks or what he says. Unfortunately, he is enough of an unwitting racist that it's a one-way freedom in his mind - in his opinion, only black Americans can use that word freely.  White Americans must first be granted permission by black Americans to use it and then only in a setting an...

I'm sure there is a very innocent explanation for this .

http://www.iclarified.com/34087/microsoft-unveils-new-surface-2-and-surface-pro-2-tablets-video I was contemplating a Surface Pro to replace my iPad1.  Not now.  Especially since its Citrix connectivity is severely constrained. I'll go with iPad5 when it's out.

So sad.  And infuriating.

Yesterday & today, tried to post a comment about a skin in the WB section (Primavera, in this case) but could not.  The 'Submit' button will highlight when I hover over it but clicking it just takes me to the top of the page & never 'submits' the comment. Win7 Pro 64b.  Logged in.

A patient who was in today happened to ask if/how Obamacare was affecting my practice.  Truth is it has had little impact on my day-to-day practice aside from a noticeable increase in bureaucratic hurdles & paperwork, as long as you don't count the headaches and hassles of adopting an EHR.  So far.  But it will starting in 2014.  Part of the plan to 'slow-boil the frog' (that's not a reference to Frogboy). However, he related that it has already had a d...

The opening was a bit off-putting, a saccharine, contrived scene to simply enable recitation of the Gettysburg Address in a very sappy way, but once that was behind us, the rest of the movie was superb.  Day-Lewis was near-perfect as Lincoln (at least to my mind's eye & ear). Tommy Lee Jones steals the film as Thaddeus Stephens. The opening aside, a great film with marvelous acting.  Even James Spader.  Very worthy of your time.

If you get harassing blocked phone calls or anonymous emails, do you call the FBI?  And would they do anything but politely tell you to go pound sand ? To me, the strangest part of the Petraeus business is how the FBI got involved in the first place.  Supposedly, if the story is to be believed, a private citizen who claimed not to know what the anonymous hostile emails were about managed to persuade the FBI to go looking for the source.  Nothing I've read indicates she (...

But, Dan!  Vote fraud is a non-problem which requires no solution .  Even you Texans know you don't fix what ain't broke, and the left has been screaming forever that it ain't broke.  Voter ID is just a way to suppress the vote.  Get with the program, Dan.

Since yesterday, the My Replies link just takes me to the last post I read, not to the list of My Replies.  On two machines so I think it is a "Forum Issue". Thanks!

I posted this in a reply elsewhere but I think it's worthy of its own thread. Major face-palm moment. I’m still stunned by it. The only explanation is that the producer is insane. NBC News, this evening’s newscast. Lester Holt presiding. A reporter conducts an interview of Libya’s President in which the President states unequivocally that the consulate attack was not a spontaneous uprising in response to a film or any other thing but rather a well-planned attack tha...

I fume when I hear 9/11 being labeled a 'tragedy', often by well-intentioned people who should know better. When people die in an earthquake, tornado, tsunami or hurricane, it's a tragedy. 9/11 was a barbaric, unspeakable, premeditated act of mass murder, conceived and carried out by the most depraved of all scum, unworthy of the word human.  It differed from Auschwitz only in its method and victims. To label it a tragedy is to dishonor and trivialize those victims. ...

Not that anyone here (or in the GOP) particularly cares, but the GOP lost one registered Republican today with the rules shenanigans at the convention.  I'll vote for Romney, but it's no longer a vote for him, rather a vote against Obama, and I'm re-registering as an Independent as soon as the local rules allow.  RINO jackwagons kicking the proverbial gift horse in the teeth.  Pure idiocy.  McCain must be so proud.
