The 1-2-3 formula for the legacy media is quite obvious: 1) Make fun of Republicans. 2) Do a fluff piece making Obama look good. 3) Repeat 1) & 2) ad nauseum.   Case in point - NBC Nightly News June 21, 2011.  Shortly after a blurb making fun of Rick Perry for saying "Follow me on Tweeter" (Texas accent aside), a cute little video of a crying infant quieting as soon as it's placed in Obama's arms.  Aaaaw. And they think they're clever.  What ...

Yep, he's a dumb one, alright.  Short interview.  You'll know what I'm referring to.

Purchased an HP6500A Plus All-in-One MFP about 3 weeks ago.  I wanted a machine that could do duplex printing, scan using a multi-sheet document feeder and serve as a TWAIN scanner for scanning apps, in particular Essential Fax.  Didn't plan to use it as a standalone fax as the Essential Fax computer app is far better for managing in-bound faxes, most of which I don't want to print to paper anyway. I debated between the HP and the equivalent Canon product, the MX870 AIO, and...

I just happen to be watching Geraldo in the run-up to BO's surprise 'announcement' - the hyperventilating about what it might be about is just sickening.  Worse than Al Capone's Vault.  God save us.

The signs showed up a couple of weeks ago along the main arterial street nearest my house (1/8 of a mile away).  We should shortly expect 'Road Work' brought to us by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The 'reinvestment': Replacing perfectly good and undamaged 'ridged' handicapped corner access sidewalk ramps with new rust-colored ramps with nipples instead of ridges. At least 10 guys and a cop were employed for 2 days at the intersection ne...

Because we just had to know, I guess.  Or maybe it was a matter of national security. Can't get to the info on who/what funded this, yet, but if it wasn't the Feds you could knock me over with a feather.

Big MSN Headline today: Search: Scientists find cause of honeybee decline Follow the link, however, and you learn this . This may turn out to be the cause of colony collapse disorder, might not.  But, mainstream press just can't get their arms around the fact that association is not causation.  That it takes a lot more than that to establish cause-and-effect relationships.  But they do us this disservice all the time - construing association to mean cause - espec...

Can't find a Fences section in Stardock Support so posting here. Keep getting this Fences.exe crash/error message randomly, when not doing anything with Fences or the desktop; just pops up out of nowhere: The instruction at "0x7c9369da" referenced memory at "0x00000000".  The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program. Fresh install, XPP SP3 with all OS updates (before Fences install), drive reformatted only 6 days ago (yeah, it was ugly); running MS...

So, for the sake of a fart in a thunderstorm, the bulb-makers of Winchester, Virginia are this month joining the other Americans who have lost their bulb-making jobs.  The free market never produces this kind of result.  It takes politics to do this to people.  The lesson in politics is beautifully simple:  take a questionable premise; steep it in demagoguery and make unthinking adherence to it a litmus test; assert it repeatedly – preferably using impressive but...

With the confusion virus, that is. In discussing the Gates Foundation's operations, there was this little jewel: Pablo Eisenberg of Georgetown University's Center for Public & Nonprofit Leadership said the foundation has a moral obligation to share its decision-making process more broadly as it distributes what is partly taxpayer dollars they saved on taxes by giving the money away. Technically, it's Pablo Eisenberg who is infected, but the WSJ let this go unchallenged: that mo...

And our local rag/fishwrap gives it the Page A1 above-the-fold lead headline - damn near 'Dewey Defeats Truman'.  They don't even bother to disguise the game plan - the webpage name reads '...health- rollout ...'.  So we can look forward to more sales snow jobs to come.  Can't wait.

The meat, emphasis mine: One of the GOP's handful of black candidates for Congress condemned President Barack Obama of exploiting race for political gain. Allen West, the Republican challenging Rep. Ron Klein (D) in Florida's 22nd congressional district, sharply criticized the Obama administration for having allegedly declined prosecuting the New Black Panther Party on voter tampering charges for political reasons. "For an Administration that promised a new era in race relatio...

I'm 61, a Republican since Nixon lost to Kennedy.  I've never been more ashamed to be a Republican than when Boehner and other Republican leaders threw Joe Barton under the bus for speaking his honest opinion, not to mention the truth, about the 'shakedown' of BP.  Not even during the height of Watergate.  I can't believe what cowards our party's so-called 'leaders' are. The Constitutional issues here are real and deserve to have a very bright light shined on them.  Bo...
