The little Napoleonic Idjit Reich has publicly admitted what we've known to be true all along - Democrats are all about class warfare (provided it doesn't bite their own classless little asses).  As I'm sure you've heard by now, he wants BO's stimulus package to bypass the people who can actually do something with the money besides buy beer, smokes & crack.  The Dems have decided Lincoln should've just let the South go, now that it's largely repudiated the freakin' carpetbaggers.&n...

A snippet: Pelosi said one of her favorite moments from Inauguration Day was when Marine One lifted off the Capitol grounds, signifying former President George W. Bush's exit from Washington. "It felt like a 10-pound anvil was lifted off my head," she said. What a fine example of placing the country above petty personal-grudge politics.  It's a 'new day' alright.

This is getting more absurd by the minute.  The Feds think they can create a new revenue source, based entirely on the completely bogus bleatings of esteemed 'scientists' Al Gore, Brad Pitt & Robert Redford.  They have to be smoking something really good to believe taxing cows will reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  Is the solution truly to eat less beef & drink less milk?  That's going to save the planet? I think I'll go out to the garage & let a little air out...

I have a JVC HDD camcorder which is a terrific little machine.  Only it's output is in JVC's proprietary .mod format and the bundled software has no conversion utility.  I'm looking for a program (preferably free, but not mandatory) that will convert .mod files to other standard formats that can be played on computers or iPod/iPhone or uploaded to YouTube. I've Googled & found a few, but this is a very tech-savvy group & I figure someone here will know what's good, bad &...

A complete and total scam, mind you, but at least it's voluntary. Anyone flying out of SFO who wishes will be able to 'contribute' to a variety of 'certified' CO2-reduction programs by purchasing a 'carbon credit' based on the estimated 'carbon footprint' of the airline flight they are about to take at a kiosk in the airport. Goofball winner of the week, but I'm all in for voluntary stupidity.  If it actually generates a significant amount of cash, I'm jumping in the game with kiosks ...

From Ayers' comments at a book event today: "The big lie... that somehow I've killed people, somehow I've been a violent person, all of it false." Not so clever an attempt at disinformation there - include something it is known you didn't do (first degree murder) in a sentence referencing something about you known to be true, and call it 'all' false. It is almost comical to see this guy calmly, flatly denying what he not only used to cheerfully admit, but took great pride in.  As...

Perish the thought, I can say I agree with Harry Reid.

For all those who repeatedly denigrate Fox News for being 'unfair' & 'unbalanced' - I just finished watching a 2 hour special examining the two candidates, warts & all, laying out events & facts of their careers with very little, equally distributed, cheerleading for either.  I already knew almost everything about McCain, having lived in Arizona for 30 years, but I now have a much better understanding of Obama's history and the controversies surrounding him.  Fox portrayed ...

I watched Obama's speech last night (prime time, I was home).  I thought it was an excellent speech, well-delivered.  I felt a certain degree of pride that a Black American was delivering such a speech, in acceptance of his nomination as a major party's candidate for President, on the anniversary of MLK's 'I have a dream' speech.  As an orator, he's an impressive guy.  I was especially impressed at his challenge to fathers in his own ethnic community to take greater responsib...

I spotted this artful summation of the substantive differences between Democrats & Republicans today (the article title is just a tease, ha!) From Peggy Noonan's DNC blog: Democrats in the end speak most of, and seem to hold the most sympathy for, the beset-upon single mother without medical coverage for her children, and the soldier back from the war who needs more help with post-traumatic stress disorder. They express the most sympathy for the needy, the yearning, the marginalized a...

I attended the funeral of one of my patients this morning, one of my all-time heroes, one of the most inspiring people I've ever met.  Dead at only 33.  I was honored that the family asked me to be one of the speakers at her funeral and I am sharing my remarks about her because more of the world should know about this special human being, and about the unbounded capacity of  the human spirit.  And because I'm in the mood to sing her praises; the opportunity may not come again...

I wondered after reading the linked article.  But that would be ascribing way too much Machiavelli to Jackson & Obama.  Interesting notion, though.

Remember all that talk from them after the mid-term elections?  I just thought this was sadly hysterical or hysterically sad, one or the other.  Not that polls mean a ton, but the trend is undeniable.
